After the theatre school Herman Teirlinck in Antwerp Manouk played in 1980 her first main part in the feature film ‘Sprong naar de Liefde’. Other films like Boezemvriend and Moord in Ekstase followed quickly.
She worked in various theatre productions like Leocadia with Mary Dresselhys and Huub Stapel and De Vete directed by Bram Vermeulen. Besides that Manouk was seen in many populair and commercial succesfull Tv productions like Het Wassende Water, De Weereld, Rust Roest, Spijkerhoek, Vrouwenvleugel, Onderweg naar Mogen, Luifel en Luifel, De Erfenis en Baantjer.
Manouk has been abroad for many years. She stayed from 1996 till 2001 in London where she acted in several films, TV productions and commercials. She was seen till example in the BBC series ‘Touch of Frost’ and ‘Close Relations’.
In the international film ‘The Shadowman’ she played the main female part next to Tom Hulce and Jeroen Krabbe, and in 2001 she appeared in the children film ‘Kingdom’, playing The Dragon Witch Celine.
Manouk lived from 2004 till 2008 in Sweden where she followed an intensive acting training at Trappan. After that she played Chekhov and Strindberg on the Swedish stage, and a supporting part in the Swedish police series Walllander. Back in Holland she appeared as Natalie Lopez in the popular NCRV TV Series 'Levenslied'. After that she start working with the German director Kai Zastrow in the film ´The Lucky One Lost.’ In 2013 she has been touring and performing on stage with the play `Eindeloos´. Manouk played the main part of Rebecca Johansson in the Net5 series ´Fashion Planet.’, which was broadcasted in 2015. She recently travelled to Japan to shoot the documentary ‘In the footsteps of Nichiren’.
Next to her acting work Manouk developed also a passion for writing. In 1996 her novel Zingend Riet was published, she also wrote many (travel) articles for Viva and Nieuwe Revue, BLVD, and other Dutch magazines.
Living in London she delivered weekly the column ‘London Calling’ for ‘Het Algemeen Dagblad’ and ‘Liefs uit London’ for women’s magazine Nouveau. She wrote later the column ‘Hart en Ziel’ monthly for Nouveau as well. Recently she contributed as a writer for ''The Andre Rieu Glossy Magazine'' where she had the opportunity to interview the musicians and crew of the international famous violist and conductor Andre Rieu.
At the moment Manouk is writing her second book.
Manouk is also a certificated Vinyasa Yoga teacher, and a HBO certificated coach. She gives private and group classes. For more information http://www.manouksyoga.se
